Lots of construction in downtown Christchurch. They are still recovering from a 7.1 earthquake in 2010 and 6.3 in 2011 which left massive destruction of their downtown area.

The ChristChurch Cathedral was destroyed in the earthquakes.

In order to speed up recovery of Christchurh after the earthquakes, they created a downtown area made out of shipping containers.

We went over hundreds of tiny one lane bridges. A bit scary with oncoming traffic.

Then we headed to The Whaler to sample Monteith's beer. Their Summer Ale had a bit of a ginger beer taste.
